AGM MINUTES - 29th JULY 2018 – BLACKBULL, DALRY

In Attendance

Committee :- I McIntyre, I Cowan & D Chapman

Apologies :- G Coleman, S Martin, D Byers

Teams in Attendance :- Blackbull, Eglinton, Gulab, Nonsuch SC, Riccarton Inn, Taylors, Watersports

Teams not in Attendance :- Blackbull E, Chase Inn, Girdle Toll BC, Nonsuch, Nonsuch A, Nonsuch B, Stewarton

Season went relatively smoothly; few problems but will try to resolve next season.

Election of Committee Members

Chairman : George Coleman intimated he was happy to remain in position

Vice Chairman : Stuart Martin stepped down. No volunteers. Position to be put on website & Facebook seeking volunteers.

Treasurer : Ian McIntyre stepped down. No volunteers. Ian willing to stay in position as long as we change to cash only payments – no bank transfers.

This proposal was put to vote and proposal won by 6 votes to 2.

Ian McIntyre remains as treasurer – all payments will be by cash.

Secretary : Ian Cowan advised he would step down if anyone else wanted the position. No volunteers so Ian Cowan remains as Secretary.

SPA Rep : Ian Cowan intimated he was stepping down. No volunteers. Position to be put on website & Facebook seeking volunteers. If no volunteers then league players will be unable to enter Scottish Singles & Doubles

IM Rep : Drew Byers intimated he was stepping down. No volunteers. Position to be put on website & Facebook seeking volunteers. If no volunteers then league players will be unable to enter any players in IMs.

Ayrshire Rep : Ian Cowan intimated he was stepping down. No volunteers. Position to be put on website & Facebook seeking volunteers. If no volunteers then league teams / players will be unable to enter Ayrshire Tournaments.

Proposals for Changes to Current Constitution

Proposal 1 – Neil Gillespie Seconded – Jamie McKay

Bring Back 3 Man Team Competition – Entry Fee £15 Per Team

Counter Proposal – Dougie Chapman Seconded – No Seconder

Bring Back 3 Man Team Competition with players enter individually and players are randomly drawn into teams.

No seconder so no vote for counter proposal against proposal.

Vote for proposal against status quo

Votes for 6 – Votes Against 1

Result - Proposal carried


Proposal 2 – Neil Gillespie Seconded – Grant Davidson

Bring back Clubhouse Singles Tournament with 30% attendance required to play – No entry fee

Players team enter in Clubhouse singles will consist of the following :

Top ranked player in stats who is able to attend finals + 1 player chosen by team

Only give out trophies for individual comps (not team comps or league winners) i.e. just singles, doubles, 2-man, POTY, 3-man & Clubhouse Singles

No pay no play rule for Supers Event to be stricter with Superleague Team Captains Responsible for the Payments of Players Who Don’t Pay

Players must achieve league attendance % (currently 25%) to be eligible for entry to all competitions

For matches captains select team frame by frame. Home team 1st pick then alternate.

Players must be in attendance before last singles match or can’t play in doubles.

Current constitution point 26 – Any player who is not present for selection for the final singles game is not eligible to play in doubles.

I propose that all league singles / doubles, etc be played out on the same day

Singles & Doubles qualifying be moved back to Thursdays. Half players to Nonsuch half players to Irvine 8 Ball.

I propose that our doubles frames be changed to Scotch Doubles as it means both players are more involved in each frame (league games only)

I propose that any cups go back to being played on the older style last 8 on a Thursday night or Friday if need be with also the 1st semi final being played on a Friday followed by the 2nd semi the next Friday and then the final at a later date

Propose that league comps be spaced out over season a bit better as think we had poor turn outs because we had everything at the end of the season

All at meeting agreed with this sentiment so committee will adopt.

If you have never won anything in your life and are found to be making out as though you’re a top player and “A team” standard the it’s an automatic £50 fine.
